Cyprus International Cuisine

Cyprus is a restaurant located in Highlands, North Carolina, and dedicated to the philosophy that some of the greatest, most rewarding food to be had is the great peasant food of the world. Therefore, we take our cues about our cuisine from the precepts we learn about traditional cuisines.

We feature a fairly broad house menu, plus a different REGIONAL MENU each night of the week. As an example, each Tuesday night is Thai night at Cyprus, and each Saturday night features South American cuisine. All of our house entrees are priced at $19.95, with a few exceptions. The specials are $23.95.

The name Cyprus is derived from our love of the idea of a cultural crossroads in food. The Island of Cyprus is located at the heart of ancient and modern trade, and therefore a perfect model. Additionally, Cyprus is the ancient source of copper, our primary design element. Why copper? The beauty, depth, complexity, and richness of copper contrasts with it’s status as a common, rather than a precious metal. Likewise, we strive to explore and illuminate the “common”, but often spectacular, cuisines of the world.
